Additionally, sellers of batteries shell prepare to adhere to the following regulations:
- CE Marking and EU Responsible Person: Batteries sold to EU consumers independently or within a product must also be CE marked and linked to an EU Responsible Person. This requirement already flows from the EU Batteries Regulation and is hereby brought onto the seller’s radar.
- Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR). Sellers will have to show Amazon compliance via a registration number. To obtain one, sellers must register in every EU member state where they want to sell batteries or work with a certified Producer Responsibility Organisation. Compliance with take-back and recycling requirements.
Amazon also introduced GPSR (Global Positioning System Regulation). This regulation impacts devices with embedded GPS capabilities. Ensure compliance before the Christmas 2024 deadline.
Deforestation-Free Products Regulation: the Regulation aims to prevent the consumption of products within the EU from contributing to global deforestation and forest degradation. It will affect the sellers of cattle, cocoa, coffee, palm oil, rubber, soya and wood products and derivatives
While these new regulations introduce additional steps for sellers, they serve to cultivate a more sustainable and responsible marketplace. By complying with these standards, sellers not only mitigate the risk of potential legal challenges but also ensure seamless sales on Amazon and actively support environmental protection initiatives.
Operational Changes
Amazon recently announced some significant upcoming changes to their Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) reimbursement policies. These changes introduce a new automated system for reimbursing sellers, lets analyse these updated closer:

New Tools and Features
Amazon has rolled out an exciting new “Returns” tab in the Product Opportunity Explorer, now accessible on Seller Central. This feature equips sellers with valuable insights into the primary reasons behind product returns, empowering them to tackle common customer concerns and enhance product quality.
One of the most promising Amazon 2025 updates is the move to 360° content. The retail giant presented 3D Model Generation tool, which will enable sellers to enhance product listings, create a more detailed product description, thus reducing return rates and providing customers with a more immersive experience.
Regulatory Landscape
Amazon may face an investigation from the European Union for potentially prioritising its products over third-party sellers’ items. This situation could lead to significant changes in how Amazon designs product-ranking algorithms and prioritisation to feature products. In changing regulations, sellers should keep up to date on possible changes that will affect their visibility and competitiveness in the Amazon Marketplace.
