Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Chartered Accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or CPA) to join our team. This is a CFO-track role for a technically excellent accountant who enjoys hands-on work and wants to lead budgeting, modelling, and financial strategy as the company scales. You will manage core accounting and tax compliance while building dashboards, forecasts, and executive reports that drive decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Accounting, Tax & Compliance
    • Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and management accounts in line with Irish GAAP/FRS 102 (internal and for clients).
    • Review financial statements to ensure accuracy and regulatory adherence.
    • Prepare tax reports and filings, including Corporation Tax (CT); support VAT/PAYE where relevant.
    • Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors; support audit readiness and procedures for clients.
    • Assist with Revenue queries and ensure timely submissions.
  • Strategic Financial Analysis & CFO-Skill Development
    • Build and maintain dynamic financial models for decision-making and scenario planning.
    • Lead budgeting (dept-level), rolling forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
    • Track trends, identify risks/opportunities, and provide actionable insights to the CEO.
    • Produce internal KPI dashboards and executive reports; support cash-flow management and investment analysis.
  • Systems, Processes & Automation
    • Leverage accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Bright Payroll) for efficiency and accuracy.
    • Design or improve automated dashboards and reports (Excel, Power BI, or similar).
    • Enhance internal financial processes and controls; document policies and SOPs.

Essential Criteria:

  • REQUIRED: Current Practicing Certificate for Ireland (CPA, ACCA, ACA, or CIMA).
  • 3–7 years’ experience in accounting and financial reporting.
  • Proven experience preparing management accounts and statutory financial statements.
  • Hands-on experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and trend analysis.
  • Solid understanding of Irish tax compliance (CT) and audit readiness.
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with reporting/dashboards (Power BI or similar).
  • Strong communication skills with clients, internal teams, and regulatory bodies.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in accounting standards, tax regulations, and business needs.
  • Commitment to ethics and maintaining the integrity of financial information.

  • Commercial acumen and a desire to contribute beyond compliance.
  • Ambition to grow into a CFO/Head of Finance role within 1–2 years.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, time management, and initiative.
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally and communicating complex data clearly.
  • Background in a scaling firm, professional services, or SaaS environment (a plus).
